Gupta served as the ITS discipline lead for the I-440 Design-Build project, a 7 mile roadway widening and improvement project in Nashville, TN. Specific elements included adding a lane in each direction by removing a center raised island. Gupta was responsible for addressing all the RFI's related to ITS/Traffic/Signals during construction.

Gupta worked as a senior engineer for the development of ITS on the I-65 north corridor in Nashville, TN. This project includes development of regional concept of operations, ITS architecture, production of plans and specifications, assistance during construction, development of system control software, Region 3 TMC operations, and oversight of field equipment contractor.

- Using Synchro analyzed existing conditions and provided recommendations to improve system wide operations
- Developed future year traffic volumes. Analyzed the future year conditions and provided recommendations to accommodate future year traffic needs
